Eighty-nine (89) water and hydropower sector projects, with a total cost of Rs.3.336 trillion, are being currently sponsored by the Ministry of Water Resources.

9- What is Diamer-Basha Dam Fund? (Water)
The Dam fund was established in the light of Supreme Court of Pakistan’s direction dated 04.07.2018. Later on, Prime Minister of Pakistan decided to join this effort and the title of the Fund account was accordingly changed to “Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan Fund for Diamer-Basha and Mohmand Dam” on 07.09.2018. The Fund is currently under the custodianship of Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan. The State Bank of Pakistan monitors and maintains the said account and invests all such deposits for a term of three months in Government treasury bills and bonds through its agent (National Bank of Pakistan).
An amount of Rs.10.0 billion was initially collected in the Dam Fund, and was invested in government securities and treasury bonds. On account of further contributions and reinvestments, the total amount has risen to over Rs.16.0 billion, by the end of January 2023.
